This Ground Beef is coming from retired cull cows in the Mikita Dairy herd in Calhan, CO. The Dairy is certified organic and sells their milk through Organic Valley. Occasionally a cow's production drops below an efficiency threshold and tough decisions have to be made. Instead of sending her off to the sale barn with no guarantees on final destination, we are trying to create a new market for this tasty beef with customers who appreciate the product and all the lifestyle and organic feed given to these cows at Mikita Dairy.
